2026 Spring Lakes' Annual Youth Fishing Derby
KIDS 15 years old and younger.
SATURDAY July 18th. 7 am to 11 am. Prizes and fun afterwards.
The derby is open to any children or grandchildren of residents of Spring Lakes Subdivision or The Villas.
Prizes will be given in two categories.
Biggest catfish and biggest bass.
Prizes for each category will be:
1st place - rod and reel combo
2nd place - fishing gear
3rd place - plastic baits
RULES
-There must be an adult for the child at the lakes.
-Adults may help with fishing gear, lures, bait, snags, tangles and casting.
-Adults may NOT hold the rod while fishing, set the hook or reel in the fish. You may help once the fish is at the bank.
-Another person may dip net the fish.
-Only one rod in use per child.
-No more than 3 hooks per rod.
To keep it fair for all the kids, if rule are not followed the fish caught WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
This is a kids tournament NOT an adult tournament.
All fish caught will be weighed and measured then released. If you want to keep your fish to eat, bring a cooler and ice to keep it fresh.
Prizes will be based on weight. Tie breaker will go by length, the longest fish.

Saturday morning.
Late registration will start at 6:45am.
Derby starts at 7:00 am.
Around 11:00am hotdogs should be ready. Around 11:15am prizes and pictures.
PLEASE BRING TREATS AND DRINKS TO SHARE.
Jeff Haley is coordinating this derby and will need volunteers to help run it.
6:40am Set up and registration
7 to 11:30am Keep records, cook and give out prizes.
11:30am to noon Tear down and pack up must of the stuff.
